The Shortest Pre-Race Freak-Out Ever

Right about now, I'm thinking, "What was I thinking? 40 miles. Not even 40 road miles, but 40 trail miles. Oh my god, how can I get out of this? "

Hmm. That's not good.

Best to just set aside the doubts, and go blindly/ stupidly into the abyss. That's right- it's my style. I own it.

The next time I post, I will be telling you what a _______ race I had. How I _______ it. How I ran until my ______ fell off and I ________ the ground.

It's gonna be cool. Way cooler than Mad Libs.

Later, dudes.

ALSO RACING THIS WEEKEND:

Tara over at Colorado Runner is running her FIRST marathon on Sunday!! Woo Hoo! How cool is that? Go wish her luck.

Matt Patten is a guy who runs. He's running the Ice Age 50M tomorrow. In my book, that just makes him sexy.

  2. You'll rock it! Have fun! Some things to remember, make a decision now that when it gets tough you won't quit.

You will walk/hike, that is part of the ultra deal.

Take the time to chat with the other runners, it makes it more fun!!!

  7. Psyche,

Take a big breath and relax. Here is the real deal.

There is nothing you can do from a few days ago until tomorrow morning to improve. You can only do damage.

So... chill. Don't worry about food too much beacuase you will have to eat anyway. You will probably have to do bio breaks too, so don't sweat it.

The night before my first 50 I freaked out too.

Run when you can, walk when you need to.

Not many people have the guts to toe the line, and you are.

    Looking forward to the report.
